I've been hanging out at the Indy Pride festival today. I took pictures of the parade and some of the booths before I came home for a breather. I think this year's Pride is bigger than any other year; the parade alone was longer than ever. There's a slide show of about 150 pictures after the jump. Since I'll be going back, I'll update the photostream later this evening.
This is my favorite picture so far. It has a hot guy, a drag queen and my best friend, Josh, on the far right.

Good stuff, Bil. I didn't see a Color/Honor Guard of LGBT veterans. Being a veteran, I notice these things. I did see the ROTC guys, but not a color Guard. Did you get a picture of Marti? Also, I didn't see the Transgender Pride Flag anywhere. Anyone wanting one, let me know and I'll tell you who you need to order one from. Shakay, who comments here, ordered two for Denver.

This year was the first for me to attend the Indianapolis festival, and walking back to my car I found myself amazed that architecture in downtown Indianapolis is as bizarre as it is impressive.
The photo above gives the same impression as if it were taken at Disney World --- and you have to look close to see that the gray edifice in the background is not Cinderella's Castle, but actually the Indiana War Memorial --- but maybe this is apropos, since the huge bronze sculpture in front of the Indiana War Memorial, supposedly a naked soldier with his privates (no pun intended) draped by his flowing victory pennant, is the gayest-looking art piece in the city --- and poses as if to bless the entire festival grounds.
(Actually, the enormous Scottish Rites Cathedral, two blocks west, is the closest thing that downtown Indianapolis has to Cinderella's Castle, complete with gargoyles and intricate gothic ornamentation. If you are like most people I know, you will either love it or hate it.)
... Am I the only one who finds it ironic that our city's most public GLBT events take place in the middle of blocks-after-blocks of military plazas? ... Monica, do take note!

A correction....
I was tempted to get two, but I ordered only one that I will use for various events. It was the very first ceremonial version of the flag designed by Monica. It will have gold fringe, and it's coming with a stand for it.
I'll post pictures of it when it comes. I'll send them on to Bil, who will know how to post them here on TBP.
It will be used at the DignityDenver Transgender
Day of Remembrance activity and at the Trans Hospitality Suite at the Creating Change conference next year.

fyi: that tall statue of a naked man with his "private parts" sorta-covered by the flowing drapes of his flag of victory is sadly as anatomically correct as a Ken Doll. Yup, I peeked.
The statue is entitled "Pro Patria" and is a single-piece casting in bronze...
