Beloved actress and gay rights advocate Estelle Getty has passed away. Her Golden Girls character, Sophia Petrillo, is one of the most memorable television mothers in history. Anyone else remember the episode where Sophia fights with her crossdressing son's wife, Angela? After he dies, Sophia comes to a heartbreaking realization.

Thanks for posting that clip. It was great. I wasn't a regular GG viewer, so I hadn't seen it before. I do remember an episode when one of Bea Arthur's friends who was visiting turns out was a lesbian, and ends up having a thing for Betty White. That was really good.

I was sad to hear about Estelle Getty's passing, and the cause. Nice tribute.
