Hello, Projectors! I'm happy to announce the soft launch of the the Bilerico-Florida edition exclusively to our readers! Bilerico is taking its daily experiments in LGBTQ to the sunshine state - so grab your beach gear and stop over for a visit.
That's where you come in! We need all of our readers to come over to the new site (http://florida.bilerico.com/) and help us look for bugs, things to improve, and make suggestions! It's also a great time to meet some of our BP-FL exclusive contributors as well as check out new content from some of your old favorites! We'll be officially launching soon (with contests, of course!), but you can get a sneak peek now.
While you are there, be sure to sign up for our RSS feed or get the daily digest delivered directly into your inbox (every midnight we'll send you an e-mail with clips of the posts from the day before) so you don't miss a thing!
There's a lot more to Florida than just Mickey Mouse, Anita Bryant, and Mayor Naugle (although all are annoying and worthy of our ire). Florida is an important battleground state and we need to shine a queer ray of light on the area! With the upcoming Presidential elections (and Florida's spotty election history), the dangerous "Marriage Protection" Amendment to the state constitution, history-making Out LGBT Candidates running for all levels of office, the continuing fight for trans-rights in the state, and much more, Florida is a place to watch for the entire LGBT community!
So get out the sunscreen and head on over to Bilerico-Florida! It's everything you'll need to "experiment" with all things LGBTQ, with just a touch of sunshine!

And a big congratulations to BP-FL's Managing Editor... Waymon Hudson! :)
It's the first of the Bilerico affiliates that doesn't have Alex or I in charge. My little baby blog is growing up!

Congrats Waymon - but leave the mouse out of it! How dare you compare him to Anita and mayor. I love Mickey!

As someone who slaved under the mouse for years (I could tell you some CRAZY stories about behind the scenes Disney), I only tease Mickey... After all, I still have my Disney-chip implanted in my head and if I speak ill of the mouse, my head will explode.
It's a small world after all, it's a small world after....

Waymon, you'll be pleased to know that I switched my voter registration to Florida where it will be more valuable. So much needs to be done and you are just the guy to get things moving. Great news! Count on me to help out in any way possible.

That's great, Father Tony! We need every vote we can get here n Florida!
You are right- so much needs to be done. It is good to see our community wake up and start flexing its political might a bit. It's happening all over the state- not just in South Florida! Hopefully we can defeat this Amendment and start turning Florida around!

Dear Waymon,
Thank you so much for all your hard work. your unflagging optimism and energy is a big gay flame of inspiration to us all.
Do you know I have tried to register three times for an absentee ballot on Florida's website and have heard nothing from them? Grrrr!

Really? That's ridiculous! Let me look into that for you (I have SOE friends in the SOE office). We need every vote we can get in Florida!
And thanks for the nice compliments, RG! You're making this Southern Belle blush!
