A Pro-Equality US Senator from Wyoming?

Actually, it is very possible.
Wyoming, "the Equality State," has a long tradition of individual freedom from government intrusion. And there is a candidate for US Senator there who is totally pro equality (supports all of our goals, including marriage).
His name is Nick Carter. He is also an eQualityGiving Endorsed Candidate to Fund.
Nick is in a statistical dead heat with his opponent, an anti-gay Republican appointed last year to fill a vacancy, who has never held elective office before. Nick is popular in Wyoming because, as an attorney, he has won trial cases in each county. He says he has gone door to door to meet each of the voters this year. (Nick Carter is not related to Jimmy Carter.)
Moreover, it only takes 125,000 votes to win a US Senate seat there. The cost is about $500,000, a fraction of the cost of a similar race in other states. This is a race to pay attention to and to donate to. His website is www.NickforSenate.com.

It is key that we focus on putting into office people who support our issues. The sooner that we are able to build a pro-equality majority in Congress, the sooner we will be able to achieve passage of legislation like an inclusive ENDA, the repeal of DADT, and a National AIDS Strategy.

I'm pretty certain that the conference call is September 23rd, and not in November.

I admire what you two have done and are doing. You know my policy. If the campaign web site doesn't have our issues there, no money. Obama has a web page "Obama Pride" where LGBT's can donate. Perhaps this candidate and Ashwin Madia could do the same.

Wyoming is a real "sleeper" for fair minded Democrats in 2008. Nick Carter is an excellent candidate. In addition, because Sen. Craig Thomas died in office, in just 43 days, BOTH of Wyoming's U. S. Senators are up for election, along with their lone Member of the U. S. House of Representatives.
Dr. Chris Rothfuss from Laramie vs. Neanderthal incumbent Republican Sen. Mike Enzi; and Gary Trauner from Jackson seeking the open seat for the U. S. House are the other two great candidates.
There is a real opportunity here to pull off a "Wyoming Surprise" on November 4.
How fitting it would be on the 10th Anniversary of the death of Matthew Shepard, to elect fair minded Democrats to all three of Wyoming's Federal Offices.
