Michael: Thank you for your considerable research about this. I agree that registration is an important first step, but in the upcoming election, we must also be fully involved for a number of reasons.
It's important that each of us visibly and actively support our candidate, whoever that person is. I respectfully disagree with the position of the Log Cabin Republicans because I believe that a McCain administration would completely ignore the LGBT community.
Come Election Day, we must vote, and for some of us in the gender variant community this raises some issues. NCTE has a lot of good information about how to do this, and how to get registered.
We also need to participate in helping with the election as poll watchers, election judges, etc., to avoid the fiasco of Florida in 2000. When hankey-pankey goes on, as it will, we need to speak out about it.
My involvement with politics has enabled me to have direct access to the political leaders of this state. They are more willing to help us if we know we are helping them.
I would suggest this year is not the year to sit quietly on the sidelines and watch the process play out. We should get as involved as our time and energy allows us to do so.
Same day registration's the best way to go, but for people who aren't fortunate enough to live in a state with it, they have to make sure they register in time. Thanks for posting this, Michael.

Great info, Michael! Thanks for putting this up!
Yeah, thanks for an alternative to sending another six emails off to Florida Voter Registration.
