Several celebrities attended John McCain's recent Hollywood fundraiser. Guests included:

  • James Caan
  • Jon Voigt
  • Robert Duvall
  • Jerry Bruckheimer
  • Victoria Jackson
  • Lorenzo Lamas
  • Kevin Sorbo
  • Lou Ferrigno
  • Dean Cain (Say it ain't so, sexy Superman!)
  • Adam Carolla

So let's have fun with this. Who are other celebrities you think (or know) are Republicans? If you know they're Rep(ugnant), be sure to offer your proof!

Chuck Norris did commercials for Huckabee.

The Govenator. He is Republican by name, but not necessarily by deed. And, he still is considered a celebrity.

Kevin Sorbo was there?

No surprise, actually. He always was a second-rate Lucy Lawless. I guess being beaten at what was originally his game by a popular, foreign, sexually ambiguous woman can make a white straight man resentful.

Kind of goes along with Lou Ferigno with the washed up action stars, eh?

I saw Bo Derek on Larry King a while back and she was for the republicans.

I just did a search on this yesterday after looking at the long list of Obama supporters, I wanted to see who was publicly supporting McCain. The one that hurt the most...Ducky from "Pretty in Pink"...Jon Cryer. So sad it made me cry(er)!!!

Uber-male Ted Nugent for one. (I really think that he just needs a good man in his life.)

But looking over that list:

Adam Carolla? What the hell? Man Show Adam Carolla? Go-fuck-off-Ann-Coulter Adam Corolla? I hope he had a good time.

Also, Jerry Bruckheimer? Well, now that I wiki him, I get this: "In 2007 it was reported the he donated 29% of his $20,700 in political contributions to Republican candidates [13]. He gave $5,000 to a joint fundraising committee on John McCain’s behalf."

Oh well.

Dennis Miller, spoken at Bush fundraisers.

Adam Sandler, donated to Guiliani's presidential campaign.

Dennis Miller is a regular on Bill O'Reilly's show on Fox News. He is a Democrat turned Republican, and has a lot to say about it on the show.

Adam Carolla did not attend. He was invited by a friend then not let in because he didn't pay the grand to get in. He's not Republican OR Democrat.

Dennis Hopper used to be a Republican apparently, but now he's voting for Obama according to the Huffington Post.

"'I voted for Bush, father and son, but this time I'll vote for Obama,' he told journalists at the opening of a show on his life and work.

'I was the first person in my family to have been Republican,' he added. 'For most of my life I wasn't on the left.'

'I pray God, Barack Obama is elected,' he said, calling the current administration's many 'lies.'"

I guess Bush's administration wasn't the kind of "easy ride" Hopper had hoped for...

Sylvester Stallone was involved in a Larry Craig event once. Er, wait, maybe it was Larry who was in the stall alone. Let me check my National Enquirer.

Drew Carey is also a Republican.

One of the most well-identified Republicans in Hollywood is Denzel Washington. Not that I've ever heard that he makes big donations to the GOP, but he gives literally millions to fundamentalist Black churches. I didn't see him on the list of attendees above, and a little birdie tells me that he is likely to vote Democratic in a few weeks, perhaps for the first time in his life. Wonder why.
