With a little over a week before election day, Sen. Barack Obama needs your help to become our next president. If elected, Sen. Obama would become the first African-American president in history and the dream that so many of our ancestors fought and died for will that much closer to being realized.

I had the amazing opportunity to hear Barack speak to tens of thousands of people a few days ago in Leesburg, VA. It was my first time seeing him speak live. It may have been my first time hearing him speak live, it was not the first time that Barack included LGBT Americans in his vision for our country.

Because of the unprecedented excitement around the presidential election, millions of new voters have registered including many, many young people.

Colorado: 300,000

Florida: 500,000

Indiana: 700,000

North Carolina: 600,000

Ohio: 700,000

Pennsylvania: 500,000

Virginia: 300,000

Now the challenge is to ensure that the newly registered voters make it to the polls.
