Jason got his start performing at the famed Showtime at the Apollo in Harlem. Showtime is a televised talent competition that is far more cutthroat than American Idol could ever hope to be. The show has had performances by music legends including Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Lauren Hill, Mariah Carey, Luther Vandross and Stevie Wonder.

In OhLaLa Mag Jason described his appearance on the show:

It was an amazing experience and one of the best and scariest nights of my life. The audience yelled some really hateful things at me when I walked out on to the stage. Things like "go home white boy". Then I started to sing and everything changed.

Jason, a skinny white gay boy, not only had the cojones to perform before the largely Black and infamously vocal audience, he kicked ass and won the competition. This clip of Jason singing live shows why:

Post-Showtime Jason hooked up with dance music legend Junior Vasquez and his first album This is My Life generated 5 Top Ten singles on the Billboard dance music chart. In the last couple of years Jason has won a number of awards including the DivaDivo Dance Award and the Just Circuit Award. The video for I Can't Get You Off My Mind directed by Karl Giant, reached #1 four times and remained in the Top 5 for five months on MTV's LOGO channel.
