The explosion of grassroots energy after the passage of Prop 8 is continuing to find an outlet in actions organized by Join the Impact. The next action is Light Up the Night for Equality set for Saturday, December 20th.
The candlelight marches will be occurring at commercial centers across the country to continue to focus attention on the less than equal treatment accorded LGBT Americans.

The holiday season is the perfect time to talk with family and friends about how anti-LGBT laws and constitutional amendments hurt us and our families. Take the Prop 8 Holiday Pledge to make the realities of our lives visible.
I pledge during this Holiday Season to talk to my family, friends, and loved ones about how the passage of these anti-gay referendums affect my life and my happiness.
I will ask them to stand up for me and help me fight future efforts to take away my rights and to deny me basic human dignity.

hopefully this will be more effective than the ill conceived "day without a gay" blunder.

I don't know, Jason. No one is talking about this one; Day W/O a Gay was more talked up. I don't know that it will be.
Which leads us to the question - if it's still less effective, where has the energy gone and how do we get our mojo back?

I hope that the energy keeps going. We need it to make in roads.
