Larry Craig has stopped his legal battle. It was impossible and went on far longer than it should have - there was no way that confession and plea agreement was going to be overturned. Not on the first appeal, not on the 28th.
He just should have denied what the cop was saying right from the start. Everything. The cop didn't have any evidence and I don't think many people would find it all too hard to believe that a cop lied while carrying out an idiotic public sex sting.
I know, Larry Craig thought the whole thing would go away if he copped to it. But he's famous and it was going to get discovered and plastered all over the media. At least he could have dealt with that sting for what it was and not emboldened the police.
Moral of the story: if you're going to cruise, boys, make sure you have a plan for if you get arrested. Know your rights.

This is a little sound advise that yo can pass along to Larry Craig and anyone else who is ever asked a question by the police.
Deny, deny, deny.
No matter what your asked by an officer of the law, always say that you are not guilty. Don't cop to just having one hit from the bong in the back seat of your car. Don't cop to drinking anything alcoholic. Don't say that the five pounds of dope in the trunk is yours. Don't admit to jaywalking, speeding or spitting on the sidewalk.
Don't admit to swearing, cursing or insults. Don't admit to knowing the speed limit or if you saw that stop sign or light. Admit to nothing, just do it with a big smile on your face and address the office nicely as Mr. or Ms. Officer.
I guarantee that you will be better of in the long run and your lawyer will pat you on the back and tell you that you were smart.
