Welcome to issue #2 the DC for Marriage newsletter! Each week we'll give you the freshest news in the fight to win and keep marriage in the District and ways that you can get engaged.
Here's what's coming up:
"I Do in DC"
We are building a grassroots campaign to win and keep marriage in the District and we need your help.
On Saturday March 28, DC for Marriage will kick off a new pledge campaign called "I Do in DC." The pledge will be a central part of a person-to-person outreach campaign that will educate District residents about gay people and about marriage. This is a great way for District residents to show support for marriage equality and a great way for us identify supporters and provide them with opportunities to get engaged in our marriage campaign.
As part of the campaign, we will hit the streets and talk to folks in Dupont Circle and Logan Circle and ask them to sign the pledge stating "I Do (support marriage equality) in DC. We will be meeting at 10:00am on Saturday, March 28th at 1402 12th Street NW.
Never done anything like this before? Don't worry. We will prep you with a brief training, a script and every thing you will need to be successful. Talking to people face-to-face is one of the best (and most fun) ways to change hearts and minds.
