Happy International Women's Day!
I just discovered (via brownfemipower) that the Speak CD is now available for purchase. It's a compilation of poetry, spoken word, and music featuring radical-women-of-color artist/activists from all over the U.S. -- and it's being sold as a fundraiser to support mothers and financially restricted activists in traveling to the Allied Media Conference in Detroit this summer. Check it out.

I've been glad to see the range of events for International Women's Day, Jessica--particularly with a focus upon women of colour, who frequently become voiceless and overlooked in our haste to celebrate the past rather than recognise problems of the present
This CD will be another step in recognising them..thank you for the post!

Thanks, Jessica! Always nice to see an acknowledgment of IWD, especially one that highlights the diversity within our diversity. It's a shame the holiday doesn't get the attention in the U.S. that it does in other countries.
