Queerty calls out the Obama's new dog for being a little fey:

Thanks to Ted Kennedy, Sasha and Malia have finally received their Dad's campaign promise to them- an adorable hypoallergenic puppy. Meet Bo, the Portuguese Water Dog, who- based on his outfit is either just out of the closet or a little to quick on the gun to celebrate Gay Pride at the White House... We're hoping Bo follows in Bush pup Barney's practice of producing PupCam tours of the White House, so long as Bo's voice is dubbed by a Paul Lynde impersonator.

Wait until you see the little moppet dog. Picture after the jump.

It would seem that the correct spelling of the name should be "Beau" (or maybe "Beaux" for you Francophones)

Not the gay Bo that I was hoping would make it into a position in the White House....

My local station showed the picture this morning and asked for a caption. I didn't get mine in in time. I saw this dog and what it was wearing and I couldn't stop laughing. Someone in the White House has a mischievous sense of humor.

And Bo, sorry you weren't picked. But, you're no "dog." (grin)

Oh, come on, guys! ... This dog is intended, primarily, to be a playmate to two young girls! You wouldn't expect a golden retriever, a German shepherd, or a great dane, now, would you? Had they wanted something big enough to ride, they would probably get a pony.

As for the colors the dog is wearing ... well ... uh ... it's Easter, you know, and those are Easter egg colors ...

... and a button saying, "No, I am NOT a poodle!" would have helped ...

... and I'm sure the poor dog is thinking, "Why is everybody ... laughing ... so hard ..."

... including Barney, who can be heard ROFLMAO-ing all the way from Crawford, Texas ...

I'm disappointed that they didn't get a shelter dog. They'll be making a donation to HSUS instead, and technically Bo is a "second-chance" dog... but still. But Obama NEVER goes back on what he says, right? http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/pets/detail?entry_id=38395&tsp=1

Yes. Let's start the impeachment hearings.

I believe Bo acquired on of our lais from the egg roll....so he is at least an ally ;-)

The breed standard calls for 22 inches at the withers. This isn't a toy dog. Since the dog is a swimmer, I wonder if the park police will look the other way at the girls and Bo play in the reflecting pool?

The world might be a better place if more people adopted shelter animals, but folks have many reasons not to make that choice, good and bad reasons.

The ranters who raked Joe Biden's choice of a pedigreed shepherd or suggest that the Obamas have sinned by accepting this animal ought to fcus more on responsible care of companion animals-making sure that they are not allowed to reproduce willy-nilly, or abandoned when the "cute' little puppy/kitten/duck/capybara becomes a fully grown animal with demanding needs.

How many of these terminally PC folks would forego the ego satisfaction of bearing their own genetic offspring (by what ever means) and adopt a shelter kid?
