UPDATE: Donald Trump held a news conference today and announced that Carrie Prejean will retain her title as Miss California despite the controversy raging around her anti-gay activism and topless photos.
Trump said
"She gave an honest answer and for that she should be commended...We have determined that the pictures taken are fine, so we've made a determination that everything we've seen, we've made a determination that they're acceptable and in many cases very lovely pictures."
Thanks Donald for taking a stand in favor of homophobia and hypocrisy.
Good lord! Now Miss California Carrie Prejean is blaming her awful answer to Perez Hilton's marriage question on Satan.
Here's an excerpt from Prejean's interview with Focus on the Family's James Dobson:
Dobson: Why did you give the answer you did with regard to the affirmation of marriage?
Prejean: . . . I felt as though Satan was trying to tempt me in asking me this question. And then God was in my head and in my heart saying, "Do not compromise this. You need to stand up for me and you need to share with all these people . . . you need to witness to them and you need to show that you're not willing to compromise that for this title of Miss USA."
And I knew right here that it wasn't about winning. It was about being true to my convictions.
Meanwhile back in the reality-based world Donald Trump will hold a press conference at 11am in New York City to announce whether or not Carrie Prejean will be stripped of her Miss California crown.
Someone should have handed Prejean a biography of Anita Bryant before she decided to hitch her celebrity hungry wagon to National Organization for Marriage's anti-gay star.
Things don't work out too well when beauty queens decide to turn on the gay community.

I know I'm dating myself here but didn't Flip Wilson get all sorts of laughs with that line? I guess Carrie is too young to know that, lol.
The disturbing thing is that the christianists out there will believe her and accept her dodging of responsibility with a straight face. I hope Mr Trump reminds her of her responsibilities.

This is not a Christian issue. There are many Christians that do not take her stand on gay marriage and there are many non-Christians that do take her stand on the issue. Either people are for gay marriage or not. I don't think her support as a Christian is going to strengthen the agenda that Christians should be against gay marriage. I also wonder wear Satan and God were when she was being photograph?

I guess that gawd finds it is more important to speak to Miss USA contestants than it was to speak to the Cardinals and Bishops that moved priests from parish to parish so they could continue to fuck children and avoid prosecution.
James Dobson sure knows how to make a buck off some really stupid people.

Dear Christians,
Please tell us why you don't hear voices in your heads like Carrie Prejean does.
You're really starting to creep us out.
Love,
Regular people.

To me, this doesn't show high intelligence. Reminds me of the young woman in a college Human Sexuality class who told us (PFLAG parents) that she believes that one of the reasons people are gay is because they have demons inside of them. Surrre..... I couldn't say a word - I was too shocked.
My son is going to ask the rabbi to perform an exorcism.......gotta go........

Well, Satan, God or the Great Gazoo - there's no way she could take responsibility for her own actions, eh? It's much too hard for her to spin, "Well, I'm not gay and I never really thought about it, but since I'm evangelical and the minister constantly rails about how awful and evil teh gays are..."

What makes me puke is when Prejean claims she is being punished for exercising her right to free speech.
Oh, bull-pooties! Free Speech only guarantees that the government won't stop you from saying it, or that they won't punish you after you/ve said it --- it doesn't guarantee you from the reactions of others.
Now I have to sit through another round of "I'm being persecuted for expressing my Christian beliefs!" ... Oh, gimme a break! Had she said something in support of gay marriage, the controversy might have been in the opposite direction, but just as ugly.

I wondering what God was saying when she was posing for topless photos?
