No doubt everyone knows by now about the horrific crash of two Metro trains in Washington, DC on Monday. Amid the details about the nine people who died in the crash is a Washington Post remembrance of Mary "Mandy" Doolittle, with a reference to her partner of 15 years. That partner is Carol Anne Douglas, long-time radical feminist author and a member of the Off Our Backs collective for more than 30 years.
We are everywhere - including where there are tragedies. Our condolences to Carol Anne and to the family and friends of all the victims.

The MSM has a tendency to 'straightwash' when someone LGBT is a part of a situation like this.
We had two horrible Metrolink crashes and the most recent killed 25 people.
Among them was a very young (25 yrs old) lesbian LAPD police officer. Her life partner of the last five years was mentioned because the LAPD press office (and her family) made sure that the public knew of this officer's background and that she left behind a significant other.
We know that often family or professional contacts won't do it.

We are indeed everywhere and have been for centuries; some Lesbian women were out in Paris even before the Revolution.
