Hey, remember when the Oregon media called for Portland mayor Sam Adams to resign because he had consensual sex with another adult male? And remember how they said that the two possibly had sex when Beau Breedlove was 17, and how the sex scolds latched on to that possibility as a reason to continue to call for Adams to resign to cover up the fact that they were really just uncomfortable with the idea of a middle-aged dude and a young dude having sex? Well, turns out there's no real proof of the charges that they had sex when Breedlove was 17:

"Here, there are serious questions about the credibility of Breedlove's account, due to his prior inconsistent statements, the lack of corroborating witnesses or evidence, his attempt to gain personally from matters related to his involvement with Adams and his prior criminal record," the report states.

"Accordingly, we have concluded there is insufficient evidence to charge, let alone convict, Adams with illegal sexual contact with a minor."

Well, maybe the recall effort will stop now. But I doubt it.
