The Minnesota Independent is reporting a gang of Somali youths taunted a gay guy after he left the local gay pride festival and threw rocks at him. You can clearly hear them say things like "F--k gay people!" and "Gay is not the way!" The man escapes unharmed, but two police officers* security officers walk past without stopping. The entire incident is in the video.
*Thanks to Projector Felix P for the tip from the Minneapolis Police Department that the two "officers" are actually private security guards for a nearby apartment complex. That's good news!

I was shocked that the two police officers did nothing at all but then i found this on the video description at YouTube:
"***NOTE*** The Minneapolis Police Department has contacted me to let me know that the two guys in the video who look like police officers are NOT police officers and were in fact private security for the apartment building we were walking next to."
So, even though situations like this are unnaceptable and scary coming from young people the thought that there were officers around not giving a damn would turn it into a even more scary moment. But in fact there was no officers around, i'm glad and i'm not!

My recollection is those private security guards looked well equipped, was that a bullet proof vest on one?
If this is a taxpayer supported housing complex perhaps the guards could be trained to contact police when near riots start out. Even if they are not taxpayer supported, might be good training for private security to learn to dial 911.
