I prefer Harry Potter because it's overall better in every field over Twilight.
I couldn't get myself to read past the first page of Twilight it was so bad, and the movie I couldn't sit through it.
While with Harry potter I find myself sucked into the plot and enjoying it ever ytime I watch the movies, and the same with reading the books.
D= I haven't seen the new Harry Potter yet because where I live it's sold out everywhere until August!(Except at those fancy dinner and a movie premium bar places, but I'm not of drinking age so they wouldn't let me in =/)

no contest - Potter by a mile (or more)
saw it the day it came out at the wonderful Uptown theater in Washington DC (a true big screen theater, one of the few left) and it was terrific
I predict $175 Million for the box office in the first week
