Sarah Palin has now officially relinquished the Alaskan Governor's office to her Lt Guv, Shawn Parnell. The fiery bobblehead went on the attack, of course, against the media, liberals, her political opponents and the boogeyman of the religious right - Hollywood.

MSNBC gave a good rundown of the speech this morning, but you have to watch the whole thing to get the flavor of the event. She was obviously hoping to gin up some media coverage and decided to go out with a bang.

So what do you think? Smartest move she's ever made or political suicide? (Full video of the speech after the jump.)

Only one thing is for sure: Palin is the only good thing that the GOP has going right now.

Palin quitting is not suicide because, governor or not, she now wields too much media power to self-implode on the spot. She's as likely to be the next Rush Limbaugh as she is to be the next president.

OTOH, she is young, has plenty of time to recover, and to mature politically. Street talk speculates that in 2012 Obama will drop Biden in favor of Hillary, positioning Hillary for a run in 2016. (Some think the deal was already cut before the 2008 vote.) If Palin doesn't win in 2012 and doesn't implode thereafter, the 2016 campaign might see two women running against each other.

I realize that I am gazing really deeply into my crystal ball. But it's an interesting possibility.

Maybe not the smartest move for her, but how about "the most generous move to the people of Alaska"?

Sarah is always complaining that people don't say enough positive things about her. Well, here's one positive thing: I'm positive she's crazy AND stupid.

I can hardly take Sarah Palin seriously with lines like "we eat and therefore we hunt." Not to mention, her supporters are completely naive and unaware. They truly believe she is the best thing out there...meanwhile she is quitting because she simply can't handle a little spotlight. How was she ever going to be vice president of the United States when she can't even stand the heat from being a candidate? Palin is an arrogant,, self-absorbed princess.
