Here are the results for the poll on LGBT priority legislation I put up last week:
| ENDA | 44% |
| DOMA repeal | 18% |
| DADT repeal | 17% |
| Hate crimes legislation | 8% |
Everything else got 3% or less.
Well, those are the bills that get talked about the most, both on this site and generally. From my general impression of the comments on this site I predicted that ENDA and DADT would be at the top, and I was close.
This isn't to say that the opinion of LGBT people generally falls along these lines. What it does say is that people who say that marriage is the top and only priority for LGBT community are wrong and that those who claim DADT and DOMA are our population's only two goals (and then proceed to either ignore or crap all over ENDA) are, at least, out of touch with a segment of the community. It's also interesting to see where those of you who don't comment are coming from.
There was interest expressed on the last thread for a trans-only version of this poll. What legislation should be included in that?
« NBC's The Listener: Taking on Trans Youth | Home | Judge Sotomayor for the Supreme Court »

What trans-specific legislation would there be to choose from beyond ENDA?
