Techno-savvy queers, take note! Twibbon.com is the newest way to promote causes on Twitter.

A "twibbon" is a way to promote your cause by adding a small graphic banner to the lower right hand corner of your twitter pic.

Here's one I created to show support for LGBT Equality:

How cool is this?

You can get your LGBT Equality twibbon by clicking here, and your picture will show up with the little LGBT flag in the lower right corner of your picture.

Twibbon.com was created by stormideas to provide way to promote causes on Twitter.

Twitter has become a tool of political discourse, and a visual makes a strong statement. In just 2 minutes you too can Start Something!

Indonesia United already has over 10,000 users with twibbons to protest terrorism in Jakarta. More of that important story here: http://twibbon.com/twibute/IndonesiaUnite

Can we get 10,000 Twitter users to support LGBT Equality? Think about the impact.

Hmmm...I tried this when you tweeted on it Jill and it wiped out my own userpic. Hope it's working right now because until I'm able to transfer the data on my old hard drives over to my new computer I'll now have a blank userpic with a little rainbow flag in the corner.

Yes, it's a little difficult to create because you have to create a transparent background or else it wipes out the picture beneath. Unfortunately, they don't have instructions or a trial area, and there is no way to delete bad trial runs. After hours twiddling I finally got it to work. It won't wipe out profile pics any more.

If you set up a new profile picture on twitter, and then click on the twibbon link, you will get your profile pic with the little rainbow flag in the corner.

Sorry about wiping out your pic.

Jill

S'ok, Jill. I'll get it right soon when I can access my old files. Just wanted to know that it'll work next time I try because it's a great idea (much better than tinting my pic green, for example).
