Well, since she got quite a bit of coverage on this site, Sarah Palin's resignation deserves at least a mention. Her speech is after the jump, which makes so little sense it's fun to watch. It won't be long before someone autotunes Palin's speech.

quitter.gifPersonally, I'm not buying any of the main theories about why she's quitting other than the money she could be making on speaking tours. Sure, there might be another scandal coming, but resigning won't prevent it and she didn't really seem to care about the last few. She says she doesn't want to be a lame duck, but she technically isn't, and if she has so much "executive experience," one would think that she could overcome. If she's running for President in 2012, one would think she'd like to show us that she'll at least finish her first term, something that people were speculating about when even 26-year Senator John McCain was running.

The running theme in Palin's life seems to be an inability to stick with anything. She went to four colleges to get her BA, had several careers before ending up in politics, and now she's leaving her job as governor before she's even fucked an Argentinean (although that wouldn't be a bad idea if she wants to run for President in 2012 - it would effectively double her foreign policy experience).

Consider this your Sarah Palin speculation open thread.

(Can't give credit for the graphic before the jump - I saw it one a few sites but don't know its origin.)
