He's back!
Brian Safi, the brilliant and irreverent satirist from my favorite nerdy show on my favorite nerdy channel - InfoMania on Current TV , is back exploring LGBT issues and stereotypes as they are portrayed by the clueless media.
This week he goes after TV shows who use girl-on-girl action to boost ratings and prove how cool they are with "the gays" without actually having realistic lesbian representation.
Don't forget- Safi is a fun tweeter to follow and InfoMania is also on Twitter!

These are always so funny.
"I kissed a girl and I liked it, made sense 'cause I'm a lesbian..."
Haha, I want to sing that forever.

back in those days when i was straight (LOL- thought i was!), i remember the first movies that came out and had a hint of lesbian action. they were touted, of course, as breakthroughs, and they were treated as if they were the hottest thing to come along to excite a man since he first discovered his penis.
i never got the connection. i used to read through playboy and penthouse magazines, too, and never thought the pictorials of two women were hot, either.
once some of those magazines began showing men and women together, and those men were naked, too (!), i began to get interested. when they showed a woman go down on a man i wondered just how it must feel to be her. my eyes went immediately to his body and not hers.
it was an awakening! how i procrastinated for so long and denied it for so long is a travesty, but also another story for another day. i'm glad i've finally reached the point i'm at now.
okay...off track here...sorry...i guess the girls kissing girls might be hot for a few straight men, but it's really a silly cliche after all, isnt' it?

oh yes...infomania is a wonderful show - i agree.
and my original thoughts today were to say something about "Mad Men." what a wonderful story line might be developing. there was lots of passion in that kiss last week. we definitely need to see more gay scenes - not just pandering - but let's show two men kiss more often so we can get past this phobia in the world.
