Dan Savage and Towleroad's Corey Johnson talked LGBT rights with Anderson Cooper last night. From Obama's speech at the HRC dinner to yesterday's passage of hate crimes legislation, they trio take a really good look at the state of LGBT rights currently. Kudos to Corey for kicking ass on the show; he makes a really good talking head, doesn't he?

When I got jumped, I had a really clear ReeBok shoe print on my forehead for a week. I was conscious for the whole thing, and believe me, it takes a VERY VERY hard stomp to leave an indelible mark like that.
On Dan: I haven't tried to get married, but I've twice been the victim of bias-based violence. I agree that ending relationship discrimination will ease a huge burden for the LGBT community, but I think Dan's underplaying the gravity of these kinds of events.
I like that Corey gives a shout-out to binational same-sex couples (I'm half of one of those!).
