After I did my interview with the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins, perkinsflagcrop.jpgAlex and I were talking on the phone. When I was telling him what I thought of Perkins after meeting him, I remember saying that he seemed like the kinda guy that would smack his wife and cross the street to avoid the black guy walking down the sidewalk.

It's not just LGBT people that Tony Perkins distrusts and eyes with suspicion. You can tell; the fear of anything outside of his world view oozes out of him from every pore. I left the interview feeling greasy.

According to Edward Sebesta of the Southern Poverty Law Center this picture is from the Council of Conservative Citizens' Citizen Informer newsletter and shows FRC's Perkins standing in front of a white supremacist flag while addressing the group about a decade ago while he was still a Louisiana state representative.

Color me surprised. Full newsletter picture after the jump.
