The 31 GLBT History Month Icons, living or dead, are selected for their achievements in their field of endeavor, their status as a national hero, or their significant contribution to GLBT civil rights.

Today's Icon is Esera Tuaolo. Esera Tuaolo is the third NFL player to come out. His autobiography "Alone in the Trenches: My Life as a Gay Man in the NFL," made him a spokesperson against homophobia in sports.
