No On 1 Maine campaign manager Jesse Connolly appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show last night to talk about the fight to keep the fundies from doing a "Prop 8: Part Duex."
Polls show the fight in Maine is extremely close (48% say they will vote to over turn the law while 48% say they will vote to keep it with only 4% of the electorate still undecided).
We need all hands on deck as election day gets closer. Visit http://www.protectmaineequality.org/ for info on how to help!
Also, watch an 86 year-old WWII veteran describe why he supports marriage equality in Maine after the jump...
The woman at my polling place asked me do I believe in equality for gay and lesbian people. I was pretty surprised to be asked a question like that. It made no sense to me. Finally I asked her: what do you think I fought for in Omaha Beach?
Wow.

That man nearly brought me to tears. Amazing. What kind of cold-hearted assholes can watch something like that and NOT be moved? How can these hateful, bitter people be fighting against love and not see it? It's shameful that a man who's 86 and fought honorably in WII and raised 4 kids now has to stand up once again and fight for equality.
But I'm proud he did.
I also watched the Connolly appearance on Maddow last night. It was great that they did the live shot from the campaign HQ. Jesse looked like he'd have died of a heart attack if someone would've said, "Boo!" to him. LOL
He still did a great job of getting out the message and giving a good interview. Rachel is too geeky awesome to be afraid of!

Jesse did look a little spooked, didn't he? :) I'd have been petrified to be on Rachel Maddow!
