It's that time again.
This year's Transgender Day of Rememberance activities include a presentation of "TransActions," a play exploring the emotions and realities of being transgender in this day and age. It's a wonderful play, and a wonderful way to pay respects to those who lost their lives for simply being who they are.
Date: Saturday, November 14th
Time: 6:00PM to 8:00PM
Place: Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis
615 W. 43rd Street
I've included the press release below the cut as well.
Each year, all over the world and right here in Indiana, people are denied jobs, housing, and health care because their gender identity or expression doesn't match somebody else's expectations. Every year, all over the world and including Indiana, people are murdered or driven to commit suicide because they don't "fit."
Help us mourn the people who might have survived to be your friends, colleagues, and good neighbors; help us celebrate the legislators, educators, medical personnel and ordinary people who support everyone's right to determine their own gender identity, and to live free from other people's fear.
INTRAA is proud to present "TransActions." This play presents the true and raw emotions of being "trans" and pays tribute to the Transgender community.
Jeffrey Barnes, Director and Producer, is graciously presenting "TransActions as part of the Transgender Day of Rememberance 2009.
