Here's a weird story from Australia:
During a family barbecue around Christmas time in 2007, the dad allegedly phoned a prostitute and arranged to meet her at a motel on Yaamba Road, North Rockhampton.
The father drove his son to the motel and paid the prostitute in $50 notes.
The prostitute took the boy into a motel room while the father waited on a balcony.
The dad walked in and out of the room to check on his son and told him he wanted to see a used condom as proof that they'd had sex. After the boy and the prostitute had finished the dad took his son home.
Sadly, this isn't the first dad who thought he could turn his son straight with a nice romp in the sack with a woman, paid or unpaid. If you just try it, you might like it. How can you know you're gay if you've never had sex with a woman? The sexual restraint/morality argument against homosexuality is sometimes easily thrown out the window when someone thinks that a little heterosex will cure someone of the homosex bug.
Of course, we have no idea if the kid here is gay. Just because his father, who clearly lacks judgment, thinks his son is gay doesn't make him gay. But this detail from the story stands out:

This is fairly benign as far as being a manifestation of the idea that "good straight sex can cure homosexuality"
In it's extreme form, it leads to rape gangs in South Africa and in California, "curing" Lesbians through rape-torture
By the father's (and many, many other's) reasoning, a good romp in the hay with someone of the same gender would "cure" heterosexuality.
That's how it worked for me! I slept with a girl before a guy. Cured me. :)
The world is full of controversies such as: unemployment, best mortgage rates, foreclosure, healthcare, climate change as well as homosexuality. Issues regarding homosexual is absolutely becoming a big problem to the majority. Thus, in my opinion the only cure to this is strong will to choose only between two genders. Moreover, forceful actions such as the above mentioned could lead to a further rebellion from a child.
Having sex does not make you gay or straight and the father needs to be charged with sexual child abuse for making the boy have sex.
