Oh, Michael Savage, how the world loves him. Granted, we think he's a piece of shit and England barred him from even entering the country last year, but now the UK has upheld their ban on Savage.

Unsurprisingly, do-not-enter.pngknowing what we do about the Savage technique for squashing critics, the shock jock threatened to sue former home secretary Jacqui Smith, for £100,000. (Apparently the British are small-fry compared to the $1,000,000 lawsuit we were threatened with!) As with our brouhaha with the Savage family, Savage lost and the good guys won.

The shock jock, whose real name is Michael Weiner, was placed on a list of undesirables by former home secretary Jacqui Smith. He was listed alongside murders and terrorists on the blacklist.

Others banned included the Westboro Baptist Church, Hamas MP Yunis Al-Astal and ex-Ku Klux Klan leader Stephen "Don" Black.

Let's all crack open an ice cold Rockstar Energy Drink to celebrate.

Schadenfreude is nice, but some of the hate speech laws in the UK, Canada, and Europe are really frightening. That's one thing the US gets right, at least in theory. People like Savage thrive on maintaining an adversarial image in which their assholeism is some kind of just war against their marginalization. They're better ignored than given this kind of serious treatment.

Wait, his real name is Weiner? .... Ohmygod... ROTFLMAO

Christopher,
As a minority, history teaches us that you cannot afford to ignore hate speech.

If you do, that hate speech turns into and fuels hate violence directed at you, terror attacks and eventually genocide against your marginalized group.
