Sad that I don't know the artist (perhaps some reader does?), but looks to be early 1920s, and just rare enough to be a gem.

Yet another of your great images Gloria!. But I would say more like late 40s-early 50s. Those bobs don't look 20s-ish and their bodies totally look more like a 40s-early 50s idea of a woman's body than a 20's interpretation. 1920's women always have really narrow shoulders even smaller breasts and rarely have wasp waists. Where was it from?

I was gonna say, it looks more like war-era art than 20s deco. Is there an uncropped version? I might be able to track down the illustrator if I can see a little more of his/her work here.

It was her stylized hand, believe it or not, that made me think it was pure Deco but I bow to your greater wisdoms.

This was yet another one of my magic eBay finds, and this scrap was all the seller had, without explanation or signature. I've searched again but I think it was sold.

well, whatever the source and era, it somehow looks very Ann Rand-ish to me...

I absolutely love all your posts!

I think the visual art adds a lot to these pages. Your vintage illustrations lend perspective and make a point without having a need to be opinionated. A picture certainly speaks a thousand worlds. I love your posts too. I am sure I'm only one of many.
