I got to catch up with Michael Urie at the GLAAD Media Awards when I was covering the red carpet. I had gotten to see his off-broadway play The Tempermentals, about pre-Stonewall gay activist group, The Mattachine Society, earlier this year. It was a great play and has been extended multiple times and is now running at New World Stages in New York (the unofficial nexus of gay off-broadway productions -- Naked Boys Singing and Altar Boyz both run in rep there).
Michael was super nice and funny in our interview. I wish him the best of luck in his future career, and I hope to see him in more television after Ugly Betty closes out at the end of the season.
