Found another great image of some early 20th century baseball players, this time three highly hirsute men. Dig those crazy locks! A friend informed me that The House of David was (and remains) a celibate religious cult based in Benton Harbor MI. I say put them in tutus and roller skates, sew wings on their back, and they'd fit right in at Pride.

I looked these guys up on line and they have a picture of the whole team and they allow you to zoom in on each one. Kind of a funny bunch.
Tell us more about them, Rob.
What kind of religion are they close to? Are they Christian? If so, what denomination do they subscribe to?
You might want to take this with a grain of salt, but according to his Wikipedia article, Satchel Page briefly played for their team. The article claims, that in 1934 he helped them win "The Little World Series", a tournament for barnstorming teams hosted by the Denver Post which was open to African-American players.

I remember as a little Jewish kid seeing a picture of one of the House of David teams (from the 1920s-30s?) and being all excited about an "ALL-JEWISH baseball team!" No fair, they were Jew wannabes. :-(
Now I look at it and wonder if they "marceled" their hair or if those waves are natural?
