Please join me in welcoming two new contributors to Bilerico Project!

Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer lived as an artist of one sort or another all his life. He spent the '80s and '90s in New York studying painting and playing in bands but grew up in Indiana and lived for two years in a camper on the road. He lives in Austin, Texas now.

You probably know Steven as golikewater - a longtime reader and commenter. Steven has his own site and also blogs at The Gay Place, the LGBT blog of the Austin Chronicle.

Lisa Weiner-Mahfuz has worked in several movements for social justice with a particular emphasis on building grassroots political power across movements, issues, identities and communities. She has dedicated much of her organizing life to challenging oppression at the intersections of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.

She served as the director of capacity building for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force from 2005-2010 and prior to this position she worked for the National Organization for Women, the National Organizers Alliance and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).

THAT'S where I know the name from, The Austin Chronicle. Might have even run into him once or twice at a party. Either way, welcome Steven and welcome Lisa. :)

Welcome!
How many of the contributors have at one time or another lived in vehicles? I believe a survey would disclose some predisposition in the DNA of Bilerico contributors.

How does one become a "contributor?"
