We've been wanting to do this interview for awhile, so when we were out recently and ran into our friend Garret, we asked him again if he'd be willing to do an interview about his experiences as a porn model for Sean Cody, and after he graciously agreed, we jumped at the chance to find out what was beneath all the mystery surrounding the guy who was termed by the website Manx10 "Rylan, Legendary Sean Cody Stud"...

1. You have been a model on Sean Cody. What was your porn name and how did you come up with this name?

My name on Sean Cody is Rylan. I didn't get to pick my name. I looked one day and my video was posted and I had the name Rylan. I honestly don't know how they picked it.

2. Do you consider yourself a "porn star"?

I don't consider myself a "porn star". I did porn, and yes a LOT of people recognize me, but I don't think I am a star.

3. Do you consider yourself gay, straight or bisexual?

I am gay.

4. What is the behind the scenes story on how you became a model on Sean Cody?

I was in some credit card debt and my ex boyfriend did porn for the studio Raging Stallon and said I could probably make some good money doing porn. My other friend "B" knew of a few people who worked for Sean Cody and said he would send them a few pictures and see what they said. After I sent him the pics, I got a phone call 20mins later from the vice president of the company. And the rest is pretty much history. I was very nervous about doing it and it took me about a week to say yes officially.

5. Do you ever regret having performed as a porn model?

NO. I live my life with no regrets. Every action that I take, makes me who I am. I have only one regret in my life and it doesn't involve porn. Every action you take in life, makes you who you are and I am very happy with who I am right now.

6. Out of all of the gay stereotypes, which one is the only one you fully fulfill?

Oh i have no idea. I can fill any and all at any given moment. Some times i full one and other times i don't fill any.

7. Does your family know of your history with porn and if so, how did they find out?

Yes. My family knows. They are as supportive as they can be. In November of 2008, someone on Facebook sent out a mass email to about 200 of my closest friends with a link to the website. The email went to my 15 year old female cousin and my aunt saw it before my cousin did. She called me and let me know what had happened. For about a month not a single one of my old high school friends or anyone said anything to me about it. Then a week before I was to go home for Thanksgiving, some of my friends confronted me about it. EVERYONE has been very cool and supportive about the whole thing. My parents were told about 6 months later via a close family friend. My parents were upset at first but they got over it when I explained that it was my life and it was my choice. Everything is good now.

8. If you had a 18 year old relative who wanted to get into the porn industry, what would be your advice?

I would tell them that it is their choice. If they want to do it, do it. BUT, think it through first. Look at all your options. I didn't think that it would turn out to be as big of a deal as it has turned out to be.

9. What is the biggest misconception about people who do porn?

That we are whores, sluts, easy to get into bed. That is NOT the case. We are people just like everyone else. We have families, friends, and we have feelings and emotions just like everyone else.

10. Given the chance, would you pursue a career in porn and what studios or for what sites would you like to work?

I don't know. I have been pursued by companies like Falcon, HOTHOUSE, Raging Stallion. I have thought about it. It is very good money and it can be fun. I have met a lot of awesome people since i started the business.

11. Ok, so tell us...how lucrative is porn? How much did you make?

I am not really supposed to say but in the 9 videos that i made over the span of a year, I made roughly $40,000. It is very good money. You get to take trips that are totally paid for, meet new people, and have fun. Porn is a lot of work though. For a 20 min film, its takes anywhere from 4 to 8 hours of filming to get that 20 mins of film. The worst day was two 8 hour days of filming for a 24 min video.

12. What are your current career or academic goals?

I am currently working on my Psychology degree. I would like to work in Human Resources or PR. Something along those lines.

13. What do your closest friends know about you that others don't?

That I am very self conscious. I am usually pretty shy when i first meet someone.

14. What is your drink of choice?

Depends on the mood I am in. Either Bud Light or Vodka Sprite.

15. What is something most people wouldn't know by looking at you?

I am a huge dork. I say stupid shit all the time and do dumb shit everyday.

16. Are you currently in a relationship and if not, what are you looking for in a partner?

No. I am single. I would like to find someone that is OK with my past. But for the time being, I am very happy single. Doesn't mean I am not on the lookout though.

17. Did you ever consider doing straight porn and are there differences within the business, besides the obvious?

NO. I have never nor will I ever do straight porn. Straight Porn doesn't pay well for guys at all. A guy may make $500 for a scene. That is why there are SOOOOOO MANY straight boys on Sean Cody. Yes, there are a LOT of straight boys. You can be straight, and do gay porn. It IS all about the money. 3 friends that I met through SC are totally straight. Now, there were a few that said they were straight but I got the idea that they were a little on the fence. ;)

18. If you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, and it couldn't be mixed, what would it be? Current top 3?

Without a doubt, Lady Gaga. I dont really have a top three. I am a HUGE music junkie. Love my XM radio and IPOD. everything is on shuffle.

19. What's the most annoying thing someone, who only knows you from Sean Cody, has asked you or said to you?

"you wanna go make a porn at my house?"

20. Boxers, briefs, jockstraps or nothing at all?

Boxer Briefs. :)
