Wonderful rare photo of Janet Flanner and Solita Solano in happier days, enjoying the sunshine together.

Who were Janet Flanner and Solita Solano?
Janet Flanner, or "Genet" was the columnist for the "New Yorker" magazine int he 30s through the late 60's who wrote the "Letter from Paris"
One of the early journalists who saw the dangers of facism and Hitler, her warnings became increasingly strident .
She was a war corerespondent in WWII, and did broadcasts for radio(which she dreaded) as well.
I had the pleasure of meeting her on numerous occasions in my youth, and it was Jante Flanner who gave me my first cigarette, a Gitane.
It was awful.
She wrote wonderful articles or 'Letters.'
AMAZON has quite a few things by and about her.
