Add Portugal to the growing list of countries that recognizes same-sex relationships (the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Canada, Spain, South Africa, and Sweden). Same-sex marriage started there yesterday.

We added Portugal to the honor roll of nations offering equal marriage rights thanks to efforts by the center left coalition led by the Portuguese PS, the Socialist Party,Partido Socialista, which stand alone on the European Left in the numbers of women - about a third - in its parliamentary party.

SSM passed and was ratified in spite of a four day rampaging visit by His Pomposity Benedikt, Der Papenfuehrer. Apparently poor Ratzingers failure to produce any earthquakes or typhoons to back up his opinion left him without a leg to stand on. He left in a huff, muttering curses and looking longingly at altar boys.

The same scenario in Spain was accomplished by the efforts of the left centrist PSOE, the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party or El Partido Socialista Obrero EspaƱol. They also gave his Pomposity the bums rush and passed same sex marriage.

Does anyone see a pattern here, aside from that fact that Obama, luckily for them, isn't President of Portugal or Spain.

you know, we would have moved forward on this issue...but we need to study the experience of these many countries, just to make sure nothing happens--and now is just not the time, and the winds are blowing slightly from the southwest, and i'm saving up for some spinners, and we can't afford to have same-sex marriage until then.

now i'm not trying to be mean or anything bere, but they're really nice spinners.

Spinners are what makes both of my Excursions go faster and save gas.

Congratulations to Portugal. However, I wanted to point out I never see Iceland on the lists of countries who have legalized same sex marriage. Same Sex Civil Unions have been legal there since 1994 and Marriage some time later. Incidentally, in Iceland the distinction between the two is none in the eyes of the law or the people of the country.

P.S. I am fine with typing the characters in the Captcha below but did it have to say xgay in beginning of it? Someones idea of a joke?
