I'm very pleased to announce the Rev Emily Heath as our newest Bilerico Project contributor! Emily is an ordained pastor currently serving two congregations. She is out and serves in the United Church of Christ, a denomination which openly welcomes LGBTQ people.calledoutrev.jpg

Prior to serving as a UCC minister, Emily spent 8 years as a minister with the Presbyterian Church (USA). She left that denomination after it repeatedly refused to extend full membership rights, including marriage and ordination, to LGBTQ individuals.

chdouglas.jpgAs well, Chris Douglas, a former contributor when we were an Indiana-focused site, is returning to the site. Chris is a gay Republican and he wants to explore a local race's implications on a potential marriage amendment in the Hoosier state. It should be a fascinating series that'll give us a lot to talk about.

Please join me in welcoming Emily and Chris to Bilerico.

Welcome, Emily and Chris! I'm looking forward to your contributions to one of the most interesting conversations on the Web.

Welcome Emily and Chris. I am a former Baptist pastor and AG educator who finally came to grips with my sexual orientation. I am blessed because my wife understands and accepts me; albeit it was a learning curve.
I live in an area that has no churches that reach out to and accepts all people. I have thought about starting a church that makes all feel their worth and significance-including the gang kids etc that were never warmly welcomed in our churches.
God bless each of you and I wish you the very best and much joy.

Always great to have new voices- especially from the spiritual and political perspectives.
Welcome!
