The man accused of beating two elderly gay men to death in an Indianapolis suburb in late 2008 has been convicted of murder in both cases. Michael Brown "discovered" the bodies and called police in an attempt to mask his involvement. He had been serving as a caretaker for the two men and was stealing money from the couple. When one of the two victims discovered the thefts, Brown killed both men and fled to California.
Milton Lindgren Jr. and his partner. Eric Hendricks, died, a family member said, because they had money and Michael L. Brown wanted it.
Sentencing will be Oct. 13, said Marion County deputy prosecutor Greg Spencer. Brown faces 45 to 65 years on each count.
He had also cut their phone and cable lines and spray painted "FAG" on the side of their house in an attempt to make it look like a hate crime.
