Holy shit. Why does Chicago always have the most interesting politics? Sometimes it reminds me of a third world country with all the corruption and scheming. While no one threw a shoe, I was waiting on it during this exchange between mayoral candidates Carol Mosley Braun and Patricia Van Pelt-Watkins. Check it out, Mosley Braun gets on her high horse, says her opponent was "strung out on crack" and calls her "sweetie."

Contributor Phil Reese had an exclusive interview with Mosley Braun recently to talk about LGBT issues, but it wasn't nearly as exciting as this. Rahm Emmanuel didn't attend the debate, or I'm sure he'd have cussed them all out and gone home.

we have major sports teams that win championship titles, BUT our favorite sport is and always has been politics!

Phil may have been impressed by CMB when meeting her, we have just been waiting for this to happen; i think the oddsmakers had it as 5-2 as an inevitability...

LOL, only in Chicago.

Hey, I live in Evanston so I get to pop popcorn but this is waaaaaaaaaaaay out of line for CMB.

It's not surprising. She disgraced the State Dept. as an Ambassador. She has no class.

It's going to be Rahm in a landslide.

I'm embarrassed for CMB, and not just as a result of this little outburst. Everything she has said and done since announcing her candidacy has made her appear bush league and unqualified.

the columnists in the Chicago Sun-Times are eating her up today, even Mary Mitchell!

a couple of weeks ago S-T columnist Neil Steinberg did a column that basically said to expect something like this; she was so angry that she attacked him personally on his past drinking; that one stayed local; this one went national;

like i said previously, we were all waiting for this to happen...

OMG. I can't believe they didn't even let Van Pelt-Watkins respond to being called a crack addict.
