Great cartoon from Tom Tomorrow about the horrible gun tragedy in Arizona. This about sums it up.

The victory of people opposed to any form of gun control is a genuine triumph of illogic. How many times have you heard people seriously suggest that more guns lead to less crime, even though the U.S. has among the world's highest gun ownership rates (if not the highest) in addition to the highest rates of violent crime in the developed world? It goes hand-in-hand with the equally spurious argument that capital punishment reduces murder rates.

Yeah, this comic makes a good point. Is there any evidence Americans really do oppose gun control or is it just one of those articles of faith the Democrats operate on?

Sadly, we're never going to be allowed to find out. :(

Thank you, Bil -- definitely one of Tom Tomorrow's best!
