Great performance. I have to be honest, I don't understand why so many people are ragging on Lady Gaga for this sounding like Madonna's Express Yourself or Vogue. So what? Much of pop music has the same backbeat and melodic sounds. It's a great song with a great message...minus a couple selections in words like 'Orient'. The intention is clear, Lady Gaga wants to leverage her voice, fame etc. to further LGBT equal rights. That's more action than many celebrities we've pointed our fingers at who have participated in the It Gets Better Project. We need a new Madonna to resonate with and ignite action by the next generation and I think Lady Gaga is the one.
I find this song irritating with all the God references. I love Lady Gaga for giving the LGBT+ community so much support, but is the religion stuff so necessary? Maybe I'm just overly sensitive because most Christians who I've discussed my sexuality and gender identity with have told me I'm going to hell.
