Longtime gay icon and movie star Dame Elizabeth Taylor has died at age 79 in Los Angeles. Taylor died of congestive heart failure after being ill for many years. She was well-known in the LGBT community for her dedicated support of HIV and AIDS funding. She was one of the first Hollywood celebrities to take up the issue and brought an unbelievable amount of attention to those suffering with the illness.

Damn. Someone pour me a goddamned drink.

You can make donations to AmFar in honor of the silver screen legend.

Definitely a huge loss. She will be sorely missed.

But, prepare yourselves. The clockwork crazies at Westboro Baptist, the Phelps clan, have already vowed to picket her funeral.

For many years I have kept a list of beautiful ladies. Elizabeth Taylor is always, always right at the top.

For those of you playing along, the #2 spot is held by Anne Bancroft.

The rest of the list shifts around.
