Here's a Foster's ad from Australia that Pink News thinks is homophobic. I think if maybe we'd expand our definition of "homophobia" from "prejudice against gay people" to "fear of same-sex affection," then they have a point.

We need a new word that means, "It's OK if other guys are gay, but I don't want the hot half-naked babes on this beach to think I'm gay."
Queer-confusion-phobia.
Mistaken-for-queer-phobia.
Naw ... this needs work.
Personally I found the ad funny. It's no different than the times one of my female friends has brushed up against me and jokingly I act creeped out that their boob touched me.
Does that make me a heterophobe?
Yeah, well, they're supposed to be Brits calling Aussies for social tips. How the heck are we supposed to know what they're even saying?
I now know what "budgie smugglers" are, but I couldn't figure out what came right before it without reading the story.
I'm happy to see that the overwhelming number of comments at Pink News were in the vein of, "isn't there any real homophobia to report on?"
... yeah, the aussies ... ironic that he calls his friend his "mate" ... use that term in America and people will think you're lovers for sure ...
On come on...when I saw the ad I thought...isn't homophobia silly?
The guy calls his 'mates' for advice? It shows how extremely ridiculous extreme homophobia is.
Silence is not what we want. Get the issues out there.
An ad showing what a nitwit the guy is for being extremely homophobic? Good call.
Just my two cents.
Phobia means fear of and I'm sure you can figure out the rest for yourself.
Oh,come on. The ad is a lampoon of homophobia.
Get a life.
