Over the years I’ve hosted a number of unions in my back yard garden and the fact that the ceremony was not government approved was soon forgotten. The emotion builds with friends, music and the words of the preacher. The love is sincere and the tears of joy flow just as much without the document as they would with it. I would urge them to go ahead, get excited, make plans, enjoy that wonderful day and, of course, take many pictures. I wish them the best.

I married my lady years ago. It's not legal. Yes, it was beautiful, yes it was a day filled with love and family and friends. And I have never forgotten that it is not government sanctioned, as I am forcibly reminded over and over again.

It's not the same.

You warned me....my heart is broken. I can't imagine the cruel person who would deny these two their moment....
