"It is with a heavy heart that I share that today will be my last day as the Executive Director of Equality Maryland. While it is not my choice to leave, it is my choice to make my voice heard as I exit."

--Equality Maryland executive director Morgan Meneses-Sheets, who was voted out by the nonprofit's board yesterday

So why'd they fire this person? Is this something we should applaud or complain about?

I wonder if there is a link between what happened at McDonalds being released yesterday and her dismissal.I don't envy any of the leadership that were saying a bill that doesn't cover public accomodations was better than nothing.I realize that laws passed or not may not have stopped this and sometimes the fight for rights can lead to violence committed against you, but how many others do. I was dissapointed in her farewell speech because for all she claimed to learn from this she still doesn't seem to get it is not okay to label all transsexuals transgender.Maybe those leaders that are left standing will figure this out but I'm thinking a few more might need to be shown the door before they get it right.Next up GLAAD and their media guide.
