When ABC's What Would You Do? television show puts four actors playing a gay couple with children in a Texas diner and throws in an actress playing a homophobic waitress, the patrons' reactions were unexpected. When the show did a similar scenario in liberal New York, most diners stayed out of the fray. In Texas, however, the patrons came to the couple's defense.

Isn't it interesting that diners were more likely to come to the aid of lesbian parents rather than gay dads? Even more outrageous is the National Organization for Marriage's reaction to the segment.

Let's note first of all that the behavior of the "waitress" in this setup up is outrageous.

The insidious propaganda point from ABC News is the suggestion that millions of good Americans who believe marriage means a man and a woman because children ought to have moms and dads, would or are behaving like this. Shame on ABC.

Be prepared for lot more prejudiced stereotyping of decent and honorable Americans down the road by powerful elites.

That's right. No one would "behave like this" by saying gay parents shouldn't be able to adopt or that LGBT families aren't as good as those headed by a straight couple. Oh. Wait. You mean that's exactly what NOM says regularly?

It seems a lot less like "prejudiced stereotyping of decent and honorable Americans" than an accurate portrait of what the leaders of NOM spew on a daily basis.

In terms of the new design, it is not visibly clear that the quote from NOM aren't your words. The indent is subtle, and there's no quotation marks or box or other visual indication that it's a quote.

"Decent and honorable?" Who is NOM kidding?
