The following is a video from the Netrooots Connect Pre-Conference, also from Carlos in DC:
The session was titled "Immigration Reform Through a Queer Lens," and focused on the personal stories of undocumented immigrants - using 'coming out' rhetoric to draw a parallel between LGBTQ identity and undocumented immigrant identity. Tania Unzueta, Reyna Wences, Juan Rodriguez and Felipe Matos looked to their queer community for allies, sharing their experiences as undocumented and queer and showing how immigrant rights are LGBT rights and vice versa.
