"Once again the State Assembly made an important and courageous stand in passing marriage equality legislation that brings us closer than ever to equality for LGBT New Yorkers. I want to thank Speaker Sheldon Silver and Assemblyman Daniel O'Donnell for leading the way to marriage equality. I also want to thank and celebrate Assembly Members Deborah Glick, Matthew Tittone, and their colleagues who took a stand in favor of equality. This could not have been possible without the endless work of activists, volunteers, and supporters. Tonight, we are making history together."

-- Lesbian New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn after New York's State Assembly passed a marriage equality bill. With Rep Anthony Weiner effectively knocked out of the race for NYC mayor, Quinn is seen by many as the new frontrunner.

This Christine Quinn? Ugh.

Yay, now if I were a New Yorker I could marry another trans girl who has been degendered by her government... since we're so pro-LGBT equality, can we get housing, employment, and medical treatment non-discrimination for the WHOLE ACRONYM?
