"To say that I would use the gay community to sell records is probably one of the most ridiculous statements anyone can make about me as a person. I would say the top thing I think about every single day of my life, other than my fans, loving the music, and my family being healthy, is social justice and equality."

- Lady Gaga, in a new cover story from The Advocate, addressing concerns that she's using the LGBT community to make money.

It's too bad that quote comes right after this nice little bit:

"“My love for my gay fans is just pure, authentic love for them as supporters of me from the beginning, and me feeling connected to their struggles as someone who is a part of their fight,” she says.

The mutual love affair between Gaga and her intensely devoted — and largely gay — disciples has come into the conversation a second time within a few minutes. She has declared numerous times that, like many of her “little monsters,” she was bullied. In one instance, as a young girl in Manhattan, she was literally tossed into a trash can by classmates. It’s not just sympathy she feels, though. Her connection to her fans goes deeper, to the point of identification. She says she is one of them.

Though she’s recently ended an on-off relationship with musician Luc Carl, Gaga has discussed her attraction to other women in the past. As to whether she also considers herself an actual member of the LGBT community — “yes” is her response after a brief pause. Gaga draws the word out, perhaps steeling herself for the follow-up question, wondering if she’ll be forced to address the rumor that she has a penis. “The b letter,” Gaga answers, and lets out a giggle. She really is in good spirits today."

So immediately, we can see that she distinguishes herself from her "gay" fans. Then, when she's confronted about it, she has to take a very clear pause and then draw out her response "yeeeesss....". Then she has to add that "it's the 'B'".

That article is nothing but a puff piece. I had to wipe my screen off while reading it just to see past Jeremy Kinser's salivating, excuse making, and bobble-head nodding. I'd suggest that Gaga's PR team paid for this "article", but that would suggest that The Advocate/OUT even pays its writers.

Gaga has ID'd as BI.

If you feel so comfortable questioning her ID... then it's free reign on yours??? No matter the "pauses".

Lady Gaga may care about the rights of LGBs but she doesn't show any sign about caring about T folks. She spoke up in support of equal marriage rights in NY. However she said nothing about the GENDA bill which was going through the state senate at the same time. In fact none of the celebrities and politicians who supported the marriage bill said squat about GENDA. The marriage bill passed and GENDA didn't even get voted on, it was sent back to the committee for further study. Now ESPA is talking about taking on DOMA next year. I guess the rights of LGB folks trump basic rights for T folks.

OR... perhaps.... "gender" isn't as important to LGB's as the TG/TS want us to believe? Half the population has been battling "gender" markers for quite awhile.

A woman f*cks other women... does THIS make her man?
A woman doesn't want children... does THIS make her less then a woman?
A woman has short hair or shaves her head... she is automatically "masculine"?
A woman doesn't wear makeup or pretty little dress'... her vagina transforms into a c*ck?

Face it. Women are ahead on gender.
Gender is a joke.
Just because men are so caught up in it...doesn't make it a "female problem".

It's last years Aspergers.
